Who's OSIRYS ?

    Not really a band, but more an artistic group of Lille (North of France). The gathering of performers with different backgrounds who meet to make JPP composer/author's creations come to life.

But who's JPP then ?

He says :

  •  I am a composer/author : I write my music, and sometimes texts.
  •  I play keyboards, but I spend most of my time composing rather than playing.
  •  Therefore I am first of all a creator. I work especially the old-fashioned way, on scores. But I also often use computer which enables me to finalize my work in « home studio » ; the computer then becoming a partner on stage.

And what about JPP-OSIRYS's style ?

His influences :

  •  3 composers : Bach, Olivier Messiaen and Frank Zappa.
  •  3 styles : Middle-Ages and Renaissance music, progressive-rock, folk polish songs and Chopin.
Some of his ideas :

    Although I often use electronics, the first criterion for my work is : "What remains without electricity" (acoustic instruments, paper scores...). Music must be self-sufficient : more melody, less claptrap...
My music forms a connection with two different styles :

  •  an electronic music, which I perform myself on keyboards with OSIRYS.
  •  A more « scholarly » music, intended most of time to be performed by small orchestral groups (quartets...) or by a soloist.

And after all :

First I was a little boy. I grew under the influence of the eternal movement which pushes us thru the time where we travel. I hope to grow again, by always learning. And when I shall know my secrets of universe and of life, if they exist, I shall say them to the whole world. But I shall not betray them with words which do not speak enough freely and honestly for telling everything. The verb can be liar. I shall compose notes and sounds to open doors towards other worlds. The music exists to humanize the universe...

And I shall not expose myself, my private life is only for me. The most important is music; We listen to with ears, we do not need eyes for it. Return to the essential things, forget the look, the eccentric whims and the hazy speeches. Music only
